Not in Canada :(

Not in Canada :( Not even in North America.

Not in North America

I was excited to start using this app until I downloaded it and it was not available in Canada. I hope they open it up to North America as it is a great idea for an app.

Worked on first try

Identified right away virginia creeper in Canada, did the job very quickly.

Worked. . .

It did work sometimes, but not always. Please add plants in North America.

No

I used this app four times in a garden with labeled plants. It missed all four times. Deleting.

Incomplete or doesnt work at all

I tried identifying multiple plants and flowers from different habitats and it didnt recognize any of them, and doesnt even have North America as a possible habitat to look up plants under. I guess its ok if youre fine with 1/30 plants even being listed and scrolling through dozens of plants that look nothing like yours.

No North American project yet

If you are looking for North American species, youre out of luck. They have projects for Western Europe, North Africa, Indian Ocean and French Guyana in South America. The intro even says the app only works for plants of the French metropolitan flora. If I can ever use this, I might up my rating. For now, its useless.

Need to be able to correct an observation

It incorrectly identified an observation. And I was able figure out what it was but it wouldnt let me correct it. You really need a North America version.

Wish there was a North America "project"

North America is not an option. If the app is truly going to "learn" and work better it should be a worldwide database.

Good idea... If it actually worked

Could not identify a maple leaf. Couldnt identify poison ivy. And why does it need my location even if Im not using the app???

Useless

I see now too late that I have downloaded an app that doesnt have any use in the United States where I live. I am very disappointed to see here that people say it has no North American plants. Also I am really annoyed that they did not offer the privacy setting options to have GPS tracking only when using the app. Instead they have it set to collect data on where we are even if the app is off. There is no excuse for the app to need the GPS tracking to be always on when it is not in use. I feel the same way about the Waze app not giving the option to only track our GPS when we have the app on. Having GPS constantly on without the choice to not have it always on causes me to have to turn it on and off a lot if I want to use such an app, so I probably will delete the app because its too much trouble. I am really surprised that I was told of this app and it turns out its apparently not meant for people in the United States. What is it doing in the app store for United States IPhones? If you put in the north American plants so I can use it in the US, and you add the option to not be GPS tracked except when the app is in use, I will rate it highly.

Fun but kinks

I am in New England and was able to identify most plants in my backyard with app. I get a lot of connection errors and failed queries but if I search again it seems to work on the second or third try. Also the Facebook posting button does not post your specimen as its meant to, it just pulls up a link to the App Store. :/ otherwise its fun to play around with!

Not made for North America.

I downloaded this with the hope that it would work for North American species. No luck. Deleted.

Cactus? Or tree?

Not even close. I would take a photo of a cactus and it would suggest oak trees.

Pointless in North America

Not intended for use in the Americas. Did not work for me at all

Please add N America

Please add N America project to the app

Didnt work, not for USA

Couldnt identify a simple lavender plant, theres no option for USA or North America

Work in progress but very promising

Im a landscaper in the US and I dont understand what the rest of the Americans are complaining about. No, it doesnt cover the US territories, but a vast majority of our plant life was imported from other continents dating many centuries ago. America is one of the youngest countries.

Not effective or useful

This app only works in areas with good phone reception. It is focused on cultivars of European origin and is useless for those interested in native plants and wildflowers. Every time I have tried it, it misidentified plants.

Gave it a try

Gave this app a try, but it could not identify my flower, even with a very clear photo.
